A JENSEN tunnel washer in SL version delivers first-class hygiene.

The SL Wash Principle: 100% Hygiene, 100% Success

An investment in JENSEN’s SL-version tunnel washer comes with the guarantee of three key factors of success. The internal water reuse system and patented tankless washing process reliably deliver sustainability with the most economical consumption ever, highest hygiene and flawless washing results.

The perfected and sustainable SL wash process
The complete reuse of the rinse and press water is part of an SL machine's basic design. To do this, a JENSEN tunnel washer connects to and a JENSEN water extraction press to form a single unit. The extracted press water is fed back directly into the rinse zone via a pipeline. With no need of a recovery tank, heat loss is reduced considerably, and valuable energy is saved — considering both the energy reduction and the lower maintenance, the savings amounts to approximately 5,000 Euro per year. Also, some SL tunnel washers in operation have a water consumption as low as 3 l/kg (0.35 gal./lb.)! This perfection of sustainability also comes with meeting the sophisticated demands of hotel guests and restaurant visitors.

SL stands for Maximum Hygiene
JENSEN SL tunnel washers deliver superior hygiene. By eliminating recovery tanks and using only one or two central pipelines, dirt and bacteria build-up are avoided. All pipelines are also made from stainless steel, effectively preventing corrosion and contamination. The amount of maintenance required is much less since there is no need to carry out the regular and often difficult task of cleaning tanks. This means much faster processing of linen.

Where hygiene meets flawless washing results
JENSEN’s SL tunnel washer is specially designed for laundries with highest hygiene requirements. The patented washing process of the JENSEN SL-tunnel washer system allows 100% water recovery without tanks. As a tankless solution, JENSEN’s SL tunnel washer gives laundries the ability to supply first-class linen with high hygiene requirements, like hospitals and nursing homes.  This is also particularly important on cruise ships where top quality hospitality linen goes hand in hand with keeping an extra eye on hygiene requirements. Also, the laundry machines need to have a small footprint and must be easily accessible at the same time. This is precisely why all JENSEN tunnel washers on cruise ships are the SL version.

Why no tanks?
With the unique concept of the SL tunnel washer, water is recycled at the same reclamation rate as machines with standard tanks. Tanks on conventional tunnel washers are normally open on top, allowing heat and therefore energy to escape. This is avoided on SL tunnel washers by a direct pump connection without tanks, namely a closed system. As a result, the energy is kept where it should be – in the water and in the linen.

Integrated tanks are often difficult to access due to confined spaces; filters need to be removed and cleaned – especially the edges and corners in the tank need to be cleaned thoroughly. This consumes a considerable amount of labor and costs over the years. With a tankless solution, tank cleaning is completely unnecessary, ensuring a smooth production with 100% efficiency.

100% success
When laundries require 100% success, JENSEN’s SL wash principle fulfills a laundry’s unique requirements by allowing them to meet their customer’s demands for perfect linen and highest hygiene, as well as meet their own production goals by saving energy, water, time and money.
