Robotics in Beijing

While robots doing laundry was once an idea only for futuristic sci-fi movies, that future is now realized by dozens of laundries around the world.

Our partner Inwatec ApS offers robots that automate the most labor intensive or dangerous jobs of a laundry. When Fornet built their new laundry outside Beijing, they installed laundry robots that automatically identify each item, scan it for foreign objects that shouldn’t enter the wash process, and then sort it into the relevant category.

The new laundry, Tianjin Matilian Laundry Service Co. Ltd, was built after they were selected as the laundry supplier for a well-known international amusement park that recently opened in Beijing. In addition to Inwatec’s laundry robots for soiled side sorting, they also incorporated JENSEN’s high-tech washing, flatwork finishing and garment handling solutions.

With Beijing’s new installation finished, China now has two Inwatec laundry robot installations – both in Fornet laundries that wash for amusement parks in Beijing and Shanghai. Their expertise and experience allowed them to win a second such project, and we are honored by their continued trust in JENSEN and Inwatec solutions.
