Ready to take the next step in your career? We are currently seeking a motivated ESG Group Controller to join our team. In this function, you will report to the Head of Corporate Sustainability and play a key role in developing, monitoring, and reporting our sustainability strategies. You will work closely with the Corporate Finance and Controlling Team, located at our Headquarters in Ghent, Belgium, and our entities around the world to realize our sustainability ambitions. Your main focus will be on data analysis and meeting sustainability reporting requirements (CSRD, EU Taxonomy, CSDDD). In collaboration with the Head of Corporate Sustainability, you will identify essential data for precise reporting and improve its availability, quality, and reliability.

What you can expect:

A rewarding position: You will contribute to global sustainability efforts by collecting, analyzing, and consolidating datasets related to ESG indicators, actively supporting impactful initiatives.

Data expert: You will be the data specialist ensuring accuracy and continuously enhancing data collection and reporting processes, helping us reach high standards in environmental data management.

Become the heart of ESG reporting: You will connect with colleagues around the world to collect essential data and documentation, and handle requests from internal and external stakeholders, including auditors.

Navigating compliance: You will facilitate compliance with key sustainability reporting regulations, including CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and CSDDD, ensuring we meet the necessary standards.

Create clarity for impactful decisions: You will monitor key performance indicators and deliver insightful reports that illuminate trends and progress for management. By compiling clear sustainability reports and dashboards, you uncover patterns that support informed decision-making and strategic planning.

What we would like you to bring:

Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree in an economic field.
  • 1- 2 years of relevant experience (controlling/audit/accounting).
  • Additional education or experience in Sustainability or Environmental Sciences is a plus.

 

Skills and Attributes:

  • High analytical skills and affinity for data; ability to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel; experience with data analysis tools and software (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
  • Passion for sustainability and people.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent English skills (proficient or mother tongue); Dutch is a plus.
  • Ability to grasp complex matters and translate them into understandable actions.
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting standards, frameworks, and assessment bodies is a plus.
