Who wants to be a millionaire?

What links Textilpflege Meyer from Bad Iburg, the JENSEN Senking Universal, and the TV show "Who wants to be a millionaire"? 1999 was a very special year for all of them.

1999 – for most people this was probably a relatively normal year. The Euro was introduced as a virtual currency in eleven EU member states and Lou Bega topped the German charts with "Mambo No. 5" for eleven weeks.

However, for Textilpflege Meyer GmbH & Co. KG from Bad Iburg, the JENSEN Senking Universal, and the TV show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", 1999 was a very special year.

Who wants to be a millionaire?
In 1999 Brigitte Köppen-Börs and Carsten Börs took over company management from Gisela Köppen and invested in new laundry machine technology. The procurement of a new JENSEN washing installation was to be the stepping stone to a successful and reliable business in the years to follow.

German TV station RTL also invested in the internationally successful "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" quiz format, which to this day forms part of the German TV schedule. We have long since become familiar with lifelines to phone a friend, ask the audience and strike out two incorrect answers.

17 years later, we have come full circle: the Senking Universal P36 tunnel washer procured in 1999 reports its one millionth washing cycle!

Phoning a friend
Shortly before he received photographic evidence, Ralf Köster, Sales Manager at JENSEN and contact for Brigitte Köppen-Börs and Carsten Börs, was told on the phone that they'd cracked the million.

Thanks to JENSEN, Textilpflege Meyer could rest assured with a strong partner at their side who provided them with a highly productive JENSEN Senking Universal tunnel washer made by a company that comprehensively supports its customers from offer to commissioning to help the laundry build a successful future and guarantee process security.

"Our customers are always at the core of our company with their individual requirements and demands", Brigitte Köppen-Börs and Carsten Börs report and go on to say "we are happy about every call and every chat". As a textiles service provider and laundry service for retirement homes, hotels, catering businesses and restaurants, the company operates throughout many sectors with technically up-to-date machinery. This guarantees perfect care for any type of textiles and particularly ensures a long service life for all materials.

"We trust our highly qualified specialists with looking after our customers' laundry. Many in our team have been working in our company for a long time", the third generation of owners of the family-owned business, established in 1949 in Bad Iburg, explains, adding "as managers we personally take care of our customers and do away with elaborate, local sales structures."

Asking the audience
JENSEN revolutionized the market with the Senking Universal tunnel washer. It is the most versatile tunnel washer to date featuring internal energy and water recycling. Over 3,000 JENSEN tunnel washing machines have been installed around the globe.

The ability to process the largest possible range of laundry types at an extremely low consumption is now brought to perfection thanks to QuickSoak, EcoSafeguard and EcoTune. These features help achieve previously unseen operative efficiency levels.

After the one-millionth washing cycle, Textilpflege Meyer from Bad Iburg can now benefit from the fact that the JENSEN Senking Universal had already been configured for a long service life back in 1999.

Additional lifelines
Cost-efficiency, growth, and investment security – these are three main aspects company managers from all industries strive towards. Laundry managers planning the implementation of new, turnkey laundries or intending to modernize their systems also seek technology to make their business more cost-efficient and enable more sustainable growth – all in a way to secure long-term investment security.

Always a winner: JENSEN as a strong partner
The overall success of a turnkey project is more than just the sum of its parts. In this process, JENSEN relies on the OTC principle (OTC: from offer to commissioning). This is a coordinated method used to accompany large and complex projects within JENSEN-GROUP featuring a common approach for international, major accounts.
Laundry managers very much appreciate the OTC process, consisting of a clearly defined delivery scope and supporting project templates for each phase.

In this context, Brigitte Köppen-Börs and Carsten Börs agree: "Good performance only shows once projects have been completed."
