Futurail DirectSort

A value-engineered Futurail sorting solution, designed for the needs of small industrial laundries.

Highlights

  • One tunnel washer, 4-10 sorting categories with 4-10 storage lines
  • High flexibility, productivity, and ROI
  • Operator friendly and easy to use
  • Asymmetric, ergonomic and self-stacking sling design
  • Maximum capacity: Up to 80 bags per hour - Can process batch weights up to 60 kg (135 lbs)

Operator friendly and easy to use

  • DirectSort gets its name for being operator friendly and easy to use.
  • Operators receive linen from a conveyor belt or a laundry cart, and they sort and place the linen directly into bags on the rail. One operator can use 2-3 stations.
  • The bags are weighed on the rail and a light above each station indicates the bags weight status: Slow flash indicates approaching release weight, always on indicates the bag is at release weight, and fast flash indicates the bag is overweight. Automatic bin calibration (optional)
  • When the bag reaches its defined weight, it is directed to the storage area. Each sorting station has a designated storage line – ie. the bags from sorting station two will go to storage line two.
  • Bags are called off the storage line in pre-defined configurations allowing control and optimization of production. Based on daily production needs, easy to program pre-set steps indicate the order of each category and number of each bag from that category that are called off. Steps can also be manually skipped depending on needs.

Simple, inexpensive, and effective solution

  • Compared to other Futurail solutions, DirectSort operates on relatively few modules. The simple, yet effective, sorting solution eliminates the need for high platforms, silos, take away conveyors, and bag stacking modules -- meaning faster installation, easier maintenance, simpler cleaning, and more savings.

Asymmetric, ergonomic and self-stacking sling design

  • The bags hang from one sturdy four-wheeled trolley, and the extra wide 800mm bag opening naturally faces forward due to the asymmetric design. As a result, more of the opening of the bag is presented to operator, making it easier to insert linen into the bag.
  • Additionally, thanks to this tilted-opening design, when empty bags are in the storage area, they automatically collapse on themselves, completely eliminating the need for additional bag stacking modules.

Advantages of a rail system

  • Gets linen off the floor allowing more optimal use of floor space.
  • Increases laundry organization and production planning
  • Creates a buffer-zone to optimize tunnel operation
  • Automatically distribute bags into designated tunnels based on optimum production needs
